Join us up at the Broome County Fair! In the 4-H Youth Building we are hosting programs all week long!
Wednesday, June 29th is Environment Day!
11:00am : Compost Critters - In our Compost Critters Program, participants learn about various decomposers and their role in composting then get to take an up-close look at live compost critters!
12:00pm: Recycling - This program gives attendees an introduction to composting- what it is, what can be composted, and why it's important. After we learn what can go in the compost bin, participants will break into teams for a relay race to sort out materials into "do compost" and "do not compost"!
2:00pm: Monarchs and Local Butterflies - Discover how monarch butterflies differ from local species, learn to identify butterflies and moths, and explore ways you can help support these important pollinators.
3:00pm: Nature Up Close - Join us for a close look at nature under a projected microscope! We will examine flowers, leaves, fur, feathers, shells, insect wings, and more, learning about local animals' and plants' unique adaptations.
