Wild about nature? Want to learn more about wildlife? Join us as get started learning about our local animals as part of the Wildlife Habitat Education Program. WHEP is a national hands-on environmental education program that is dedicated to teaching wildlife and fisheries habitat conservation and management. CCE nature educator, Carolyn Klein, will introduce Broome County 4-H'ers to some of the important ecological concepts included in WHEP. Then, we will start learning to identify some of our local animal species using pelts, tracks, or even vocalizations.

The NYS W.H.E.P. contest will be held at the state fair. There is no need to compete in WHEP-- 4-H'ers are welcome to join us simply to enjoy nature programming. Bonus: If 4-H'ers would like to compete in WHEP, this program will help them prepare.
