You don't need to own a horse to join our horse program! This group is open to all youth interested in learning more about horses through hands-on activities and friendly competitions. We plan to meet about twice a month for study sessions or field trips, covering a variety of topics in equine science. The program is designed to prepare and motivate members for optional participation in 4-H Hippology, Horse Bowl, and Horse Judging competitions.
There are endless ways that we interact with our horses. We’ll cover some of the major categories within the English, western, rodeo, and driving disciplines. Participants will learn key terms, basic rules, and what makes each discipline unique, with an emphasis on the information they’re likely to see in competitions.
