Are you passionate about animals, agriculture, and learning valuable hands-on skills? The 4-H Livestock Program is open to youth ages 8 and up. This program is an educational initiative designed to teach youth about raising, caring for, and managing livestock. Through hands-on experiences, participants gain skills in animal husbandry, breeding, nutrition, health care, and marketing. The program focuses on personal responsibility, leadership, and business skills, as members keep records of their projects and participate in animal science shows, livestock auction to sell their animals, or knowledge-based competitions.
The program is also open to those who do not currently have animals but are interested in gaining valuable experience in animal science. Participants can showcase their skills in activities like the Livestock Skill-a-Thon, where they demonstrate knowledge in areas such as animal breeds, nutrition, equipment, and health care.
Important Details: To ensure you get the most out of this amazing experience, we’re asking all youth to register and commit to the program by January 31st. Committing to the program will allow us to send educational programming and materials directly to you so you do not miss out on any opportunities! Don't miss out on a year of growth, learning, and fun!
