The moose disappeared from New York state in the late 1800's and early 1900's. They began returning in the 1980's and are now firmly reestablished in the Adirondack region of the state. For many visitors to that area, the moose has become the "most wanted to see" species. How likely is it that the moose continue expanding their range, and is it likely they would ever make it to Broome County? We will explore the natural history, "history", habits and habitats of this largest member of the deer family.
