The male wood duck in breeding plumage is one of the most stunning of any duck species in the world. It is hard to believe that by the early 1900's, the wood duck population was feared to be close to extinction. It is now one of the most common breeding ducks in our area. It may come as a surprise that this "duck" nests in tree cavities or "bird houses". Join us as we explore the many unusual aspects of this truly unique duck species.
