Showmanship is an integral part of every 4-H animal show at the Broome County Fair. This meeting will cover the basics of showmanship for rabbits, guinea pigs, and poultry. The meeting will start with a demonstration for each species and then break into groups for 4-H’ers to work on the species they plan on showing. Ariana Passalacqua, our visiting instructor, is an American Rabbit Breeders Association registrar who has competed in showmanship on the national level. She’s also a former 4-H’er herself! Our primary focus will be on the basics of showmanship for those just starting, but Ariana is the person to ask for help if you’re looking for tips to “up your showmanship game.”

4-H'ers will also have the opportunity to decorate cage tags for their animals at the fair. 


Members may bring their rabbits and guinea pigs to this program. Please do not bring your poultry. We will have others for youth to practice with.
