4-H Spark Club's Poetry Contest: What Does 4-H Mean to You?

  • Wednesday, March 5, 2025, 12:00 PM - Monday, March 24@ 11:45 PM

Calling all writers! Submit your poems this month-- any genre-- on what 4-H means to you. This could be about your favorite project area, the friends you’ve made, meaningful experiences, and more. We will publish them on social media for the public to select their favorites. Poems will be grouped by age: cloverbud, junior, and senior.

Here's an example from Mallory, our 4-H Program Lead:

The 4-H Way

In fields so green and skies so wide,
Young hearts learn and grow with pride.
Hands that work, and minds that know,
Through 4-H, we thrive and sow.

We lead with head, so bright and clear,
To solve, to dream, to persevere.
With hands we build, we craft, we mend,
A helping heart, a steadfast friend.

Through service strong and voices bold,
New stories of the youth unfold.
From farms to fairs, from labs to land,
We shape the future, hand in hand.

With every pledge, with every start,
4-H lives within the heart.

4-H members may submit up to 5 poems at any time up to March 24th.
