During this meeting, members will learn about some of the more common equine illnesses, how to prevent them from happening to your horse, and the treatment plans in case they do. Members will also learn how to take a horse’s vital signs—temperature, pulse, respiration, capillary refill time.

Members will learn about various equine diseases and ways to keep horses healthy.

4-H Horse Program: Horse Health

  • Monday, February 24, 2025, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Members will meet regularly to share their passion for horses while studying equine science. They will create and keep their own study book to keep and use in preparation for participation in Horse Bowl and Hippology. Participation in the competitions is not required, but they will be the motivational force behind the course material.
