Another name for the woodchuck is groundhog. One of the most famous groundhogs is Punxsutawney Phil, and like Phil, our local woodchucks spend 4 - 5 months of the year hibernating. Ironically, woodchucks do not "chuck" wood, cut down wood or even live in the woods. Join us for this "belated Groundhog's Day" look at one of our most common wildlife neighbors.
Participants are invited to bring a lunch or buy one at the TASTE NY store to enjoy while catching up with friends prior to a nature education presentation provided by Tom Tasber. Light refreshments, instant coffee and tea, will be provided.
When: February 12th, 12:00pm-1:30pm
Where: Cornell Cooperative Extension in the Ag building (next to CCE where Taste NY is located).
