Hippology Study: Members will meet regularly to share their passion for horses while studying equine science. They will create and keep their own study book to keep and use in preparation for participation in Horse Bowl and Hippology. Participation in the competitions is not required, but they will be the motivational force behind the course material. Our meetings will start with a lesson, followed by an activity, and finish with playing a trivia game like Kahoot. We will occasionally have visiting expert speakers and go on field trips to learn firsthand about the diverse horse industry.
English Riding Disciplines
This interactive program will cover equestrian disciplines that use an English saddle. The meeting will start with learning the basic parts of an English saddle and bridle. From there, the class will get out of their seats as much as possible as they learn about various sports of hunter/jumper, saddleseat, eventing, dressage, endurance, mounted games, fox hunting, sidesaddle, polo, and racing.
(As time allows between the two weeks, we will fit in the other sports such as driving, vaulting, packing, etc...)
