4-H Spark Club: Wildlife Rescue

Learn about what it takes to become a wildlife rehabilitator when Cheryl, from We Are Their Voice- Wildlife Care and Rescue LLC, comes to visit. She will talk about the work she does saving opossums and other local critters. And we’ll learn what we can do if we find an animal we think needs help. (Does it really need help? How do we keep ourselves safe while doing so? And who do we call?) If things work in our favor, we also will have the fabulous opportunity to meet PJ, the ambassador opossum!

In the meantime, we can do OUR PART to help the animals in their care with the donation of materials. Items We are Their Voice can use are: 

  • Baby/toddler toys (no batteries) such as rattles or crib toys
  • Baby blankets, fleece blankets
  • Fruits and vegetables (canned, frozen, or fresh)
  • Cheerios,
  • Eggs (any kind)
  • Chicken (can even be a little freezer burned)
  • Unsalted nuts- but peanuts must be roasted
  • Baby food/snacks/cereal
  • Dog or cat food
  • Bleach, Pine-sol, Lysol spray and wipes
  • Dawn (blue) dish soap,
  • Arm and Hammer laundry soap (yellow jug)
  • Paper bags
  • Large black trash bags
  • Paper towels
