Reap the rewards of nature's pantry! Join Ann, CCE Broome Nutrition Educator and Master Food Preserver, and Cam, CCE Nature Educator, on Wednesday, September 25th, or Thursday, September 26th (SOLD OUT) from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM to learn all about foraging for wild foods in Broome County and how to make a quiche using foraged goods!
Cam will review foraging practices and protocol, provide a brief overview of common wild edibles found in Broome County, and discuss various preserving methods for choice edibles. Ann will then cover how to prepare a quiche and guide participants through the cooking process. Each participant will be able to sample some pre-made quiches and go home with a quiche crust and filling to be baked at home.
As a reminder, we will be working with some foraged ingredients, but this is not a full-scope foraging workshop. Never eat anything found outdoors unless you are 100% confident in its ID or are with someone who is.
Participants must register and pay using the link below. Space is extremely limited and participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
