Participants are invited to join us for a series of talks by local guest speakers covering a wide variety of nature-related topics. We are excited to kick off this series with three January dates!
Wednesday, Jan. 3rd - Julian Shepherd, "What can we do to help nature survive climate change?"
Our changing climate poses many threats to our local habitats as well as the species that rely on them. Join us for a discussion on ways we can make a positive impact on the natural world around us in the face of climate change.
Tuesday, Jan. 16th - CANCELLED. Rescheduled date TBD.
Wednesday, Jan. 24th - Ava Glasser, "Riparian Forest Buffers 101 and Reforestation in the Upper Susquehanna Watershed"
Planting riparian forest buffers, along with other types of reforestation, can provide many benefits to wildlife and water quality, and can help create climate resilient landscapes. Come learn what a riparian forest buffer is, why we at the Upper Susquehanna Coalition love to plant them, and how we plant & maintain them so that they become mature forest protecting the waterways of the upper Susquehanna River watershed.
