Join the CCE of Broome County for a two-part series on outdoors skills!
On Sunday, August 13th we will be doing fire skills and safety including fire building techniques, safety protocol, DIY fire-starters, and cooking simple meals such as english muffin pizzas and donuts over a fire!
The following week on Sunday, August 20th we will be going over hiking safety such as how to read trail maps and trail signs, important things to bring in your hiking pack, and simple first-aid for minor injuries that can occur while on the trail; then we'll put our new skills to use on a short hike!
We are happy to offer this program free of charge to community members of all ages. Any youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration is limited to 20 participants per event and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Any registrations received beyond 20 will be added to a wait list in the event of a cancellation. Attending both programs is not required.
