Master Composter-Recycler Training

Master Composter-Recyclers are a group of trained volunteers that educate the public about composting, recycling, and waste prevention through various means. Training includes ten class sessions, as well as practical education through class projects and volunteering in the community. Classes will include in-depth instruction about a variety of compost topics and the importance of composting and proper waste management. Additionally, trainees receive instruction on how to be effective teachers for a variety of age groups and in a range of settings.

Dates

Classes for the 2021 Master Composter-Recycler training will be held Thursdays 6-8 PM from August 28th to November 11th at the CCE-Broome office. To accommodate school breaks and holidays, classes will not be held September 16th or October 14th.

This program is available only for Broome County residents.

Time Requirements

20 hours of class

20 hours of practical internship (completed before the last class)

20 hours of volunteering (to be completed by end of the following calendar year)

When to Apply

Please return your completed application by 11:59 pm on Friday, August 13, 2021 to be considered for the 2021 training program.

After the application deadline, we will contact you and possibly schedule a short interview.
