Family & Parenting

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County has a long history of offering strength based curriculum and trainings focused on strong families in our community. We have partnerships with a variety of community agencies to provide these services, including: Town of Union (for parenting classes at the Family Education Center) and Department of Social Services (for mandated parenting classes). These are offered through one-on-one meetings, group presentations, etc..

Cornell Cooperative Extension has resumed group parenting classes for Town of Union residents where we adhere to NYS COVID-19 social distancing and mask mandates. Additionally, we offer online classes and one-on-one meetings to Town of Union residents to improve accessibility. We are available by phone for any questions and online classes for parenting, please call or email Asia at 607-245-6893 or ada38@cornell.edu, and leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Parenting classes are offered at the Family Education Center, Cornell Cooperative Extension-Broome County and customized for groups or individuals at off-site locations or via Zoom using the following strength-based curriculums.

  • Conscious Discipline
  • See The World Through My Eyes
