Mallory’s Meadows is a hobby farm located in hillcrest NY. We have a wide variety of animals but our highlight is our alpaca herd. At our farm we have, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and peacocks that are all free ranging. Many of these animals are rescue’s that have come to our small farm as a safe haven to live out their lives. We fell in love with the quirky characteristics and adorable features of alpacas and decided to have our own herd. There are two domesticated breeds of alpacas and at Mallory’s Meadows, we have Huacayas. Our alpacas have champion bloodlines and we also own a small group of the some of the only pure bred Alianza’s in the entire U.S. The Alianza bloodline is Peruvian, where alpacas originate. We currently have 43 alpacas and are expecting more cria this season. Alpacas produce anywhere from 5-10 pounds of fiber each year that can be sold or made into products. They also generate some of the highest quality manure for gardening.During the tour at Mallory’s Meadows, you will learn about alpaca behavior and husbandry. We will also do a fun hands-on craft with the fiber that you can take home!
