4-H SPARK Club: Dog Training Basics II

Does your dog have what it takes to show at the Broome County Fair? Join us as we learn the different aspects of showing your dog at the county fair. This club meeting will include grooming and handling, obedience, tricks, training techniques and more.

What you need to participate: The following needs to be completed with registration, youth cannot participate in the session without it. This is also a requirement to participate in the County Fair as well.

YOUTH REQUIREMENTS:

• Sign and return the CCE Dog/Animal Release of Liability and Indemnification Agreement
• Sign and Return the Animal Registration forms
• Cloverbuds, youth ages 5-7, always need an adult with them, even in the show ring.

DOG REQUIRMENTS:

• All dogs that attend need to be registered.
• Dogs must be 6 months or older.
• Must send in a Vet Certificate with proof of current rabies vaccination, distemper vaccination, and hepatitis vaccination.
• Dogs need to be on a flea control treatment – youth must show receipt of purchase.
• Dogs need to be licensed with your town/village and provide a copy of license.
• HIGHLY ENCOURAGED, but Optional – Leptospirosis, Lyme and Kennel Cough vaccinations.
