Advanced Backyard Composting

  • Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Go beyond the composting basics and explore the science and art behind the composting process! Attendees will learn how to calculate the carbon to nitrogen ratio of available materials, understand the roles creatures large and small that live in the pile, and how to test and utilize finished compost. Attending our "Introduction to Backyard Composting" is helpful but not required to attend this workshop.

Composting is an important action everyone can take to help create healthier garden soils, prevent food waste being sent to the landfill, and reduce emissions that contribute to climate change. You can make a difference in your backyard!
