Maple Basics

Would you like to learn how to begin making maple syrup for personal use or to up your game and sell your maple syrup for a profit? Join Nichole Anderson, Cornell Cooperative Extension Broome County , Eric Archer 4th generation maple producer and The Madugno's at A-H Maple as they begin their 8th season in maple syrup production as we cover all the basics of tapping trees, collecting sap, boiling/evaporating, grading and storing. This workshop will help you get started, improve your plan if you are already tapping a few of your own trees, answer any questions you may have and provide you with many useful resources. The session will feature dynamic speakers, pre-recorded videos and pictures from the experts, as well as time for discussion among the participants. This workshop will take place via Zoom on Saturday, March 20th 10:00-11:30 am.

This workshop is supported by the FarmOps initiative through the Cornell Small Farms Program – which has a mission to support existing military members, as well as recently separated, in exploring agriculture as an entrepreneurial enterprise. There is no cost for veterans to attend this workshop, $10 for the general public. Registration is required. Any questions can be directed to Nichole Anderson at nla35@cornell.edu.
