DESCRIPTION:Join CCE Broome County Master Gardeners and members of the Broome Pollinator Pathway group to celebrate National Pollinator Week.  The day's activities will include:12PM - Guided tour of Cutler Gardens with CCE Nature Educator and butterfly enthusiast Colleen Wolpert. 1PM introductory remarks by MGV Erin Gordon on the Broome Pollinator Pathway1:15PM  - Beneficial Insects and How to Attract Them Predators, parasitoids and pollinators, oh my! Learn about a variety of “good bugs” that serve as natural enemies to plant pests and are important to the ecosystem plus the types of plants you can grow to attract and keep them in your yard. By CCE Program Educator, Linda Svoboda2:15 PM Garden as Though Life Depends on It - ‘The Importance of Going Native’  Learn how important native plant species are for the ecology of our land, from the farm to the small urban landscape. Learn about native alternatives to some of the most widely used ornamental landscaping plants now considered to be invasive species. By Master Gardener Volunteers, Sarah Hodder, Karen Anderson3:15 PM Guided tour of Cutler Gardens with CCE Nature Educator and butterfly enthusiast Colleen Wolpert.12-4PM  Tabling by various organizations:  NOFA-NY, Binghamton Garden Club, Endwell Garden Club,  Southern Tier Beekeepers Association, NYS Bluebird Society.   Children’s activities including games, stories, crafts and a scavenger hunt. This event is free.  Preregistration for the tours and presentations is required.
