Most commodities which are eligible for enrollment in the NY Grown & Certified Program have an associated food safety component. There are cost-share funds available, on a first come, first served, basis which can be used to make farm improvements to meet those food safety standards and then apply for acceptance into the program.
The cost-share grant will fund up to $50,000 for a project with a 10% cost share by the farm. These can be used for equipment, renovation, acquisition related to food safety standards.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed by a committee with representation from the Southern Tier region.
